Seizure
Response dogs are
trained to respond, recognize and
accept behaviors associated with an individual client's seizures. The
dog may be trained to get help or stay with the person if needed during
a
seizure. It can be trained to perform many jobs in response to a
seizure.
Seizure "alert" dogs are dogs who have developed an alert capability, an ability to foresee a seizure before it happens. This a natural or God Given occurrence where the dog "alerts" the owner that a seizure is about to occur. Experience has shown trainers that true alerting behavior is the result of dog and human developing a very close bond. That bond evolves as time passes and mutual trust develops.
